July Colour Theme Twinchie

This is the colour theme for this month:

I've made another Twinchie

I've painted the base of the twinchie with acrylic paint and then dabbed paint through the leaf part of one of the 3 part Vine layering stencils.

I then painted 3 of the Mini Flowers and one of the Mini Leaves 2 with acrylic paints.

I've then stamped a text stamp and doodles to finish everything off.

Anything goes by Dee

Hi everyone I hope you are well and keeping safe, it is my turn today for the anything goes challenge. I have always loved Tando's media boards and thought for today I would make a concertina book using the media boards as book ends.

I have just taken a online coarse with the lovely #Kate Crane her Alphabet Soup as I have always been meaning to do it I thought I would do it while we are still in lock down and I have the time.

Di has got some brilliant courses at the moment and she sends the kits out to you her next one is Flowers in a bottle https://www.tando-creative.co.uk/online-workshop-flowers-in-a-bottle.html and is set for Saturday the 27th June.

I used Dylusions sprays after gessoing the media boards a few stencils to create the background followed with stamping in similar colours. A bit of mark making and some of Kate's stamps finished it of.
I hope you all like it I think I could add some words and maybe some washi tape.
Cheers Dee stay safe. x

Window tag

Hi there!

Celia here with a tag for ‘anything goes’ week. I have chosen one of the gorgeous layered tags from bundle 2. It looks so much like a stained glass window so I decided to have a smudgy scene peeping through the window.
I started by gessoing the part that will show through and the front, so that the colours will be nice and bright.
I smudged on some blues and greens using Decoart Media fluid acrylics, blending the patches of colour with my fingers. Then I stencilled over an Art by Marlene stencil in the same colours.
I painted the front tag in PaperArtsy Bougnavilia for a base. Then I stencilled over with a Stamperia tile stencil using Dioxadene purple, then a text stencil using Quinacridone violet.
Finally I stamped over some crackle with black Archival ink, and added a wash of Paynes Grey to age it a bit.
For the window, I painted the cut out circle with some Wow embossing fluid. You could use an embossing pen or even mat medium. Then I added a mixture of Stampendous aged gold and Wow weathered gold embossing powder. I also embossed around the edge.
Then it was simply a matter of glueing the two pieces together. Here’s my finished tag:
Thanks for stopping by!

Resist by Dee

Hi everyone Dee here with my latest post for Tando creative. I hope you are all keeping safe and well and not as stir crazy as I have been at times. I feel that i have been cocooned in a bubble for nearly a year and a bit then to be topped off with sheilding it has turned me into an angry wasp at times.  Thank god for my art and crafting it has kept me sane I think!!! This weeks theme is Resist well i have had the lovely glitch stamp set by Tim Holtz and really wanted to get a play with them and Deco Art traditions paint so here we go. I used one of the books from the mega book pack from Tando this is such a good value pack.

Firstly I stamped the Glitch stamps onto the covers with gesso, I followed this with traditions paints from Deco art using the Quinacridone gold and the sapphire blue this colour is gorgeous not sure they have continued it with the rebranding. Flashes of gold paint and some stamping in Watering can Archival and black. I used a piece of washi tape and created a hole at the top in the middle.

I sowed together my signatures I am self taught and needle work is not my strong point but ideas and determination always get me through. ps if you can recommend any online sewing class i would be greatful. I finished it off with #Seth Apter's new ice glaze in coffee I love this stuff.
Thats it for today Cheers Dee x

Resist Week - Nikki K

Morning all,

This week is resist week at Tando, and my colleagues have been posting their fab makes already.

Today I have a little set of 3 ATC's to share.

First step is to take 3 Tando white ATC Coins and paint them in Serene Chalk Paint.

I thought I would try something different, and took some Tando stencils and Resist Paste, and used my finger to rub the resist paste through the stencils.  This worked quite well, and left the pattern on the coins slightly raised in resist.

Next step is to carefully paint over the resist with Everlasting Chalk Paint.  You need to be light in touch and have enough paint on the brush so as not to disturb the resist or smudge it.  Let this dry naturally.

You can either then heat the resist slightly, and rub with a piece of kitchen towel, or take a baby wipe and wait until it slightly dries out, and then rub the resist gently away.  These made some fab quick backgrounds.

I used some Mixed Media Transfers to add detail, these can be easier to use than stamps over texture or bumps, and look fab once on.  To age the coins I used a wash of Raw Umber and Paynes Grey mixed, very watered down.  Let this dry naturally.  Add some distress ink around the edges of the coins (black soot).

You can cover in a matt varnish if you wish, to protect and give another layer.  These look cute as coins, or could be made into a larger piece of art.... I may be back with these!

Kindest Wishes,

Nikki.

June Colour Theme - Tag Book - Fiona Randall

Morning all.
I'm here with a Tag Book for the June Colour theme.
What a fabulous theme of colours and so me.

This is the colour theme for June.

I have made a Tag Book using the fabulous Tando Grey Board Substrates.

This is the front cover shot.
The Inner covers are further along in the post.

The front and back covers were created using Tando Grey Board Tags size 8. Covered in papers from my stash to tie in with the colour theme. Then a collage of Butterflies and ephemera added to complete with inking around the edges.

Now onto the inner pages of the book.

These were created  from one sheet of 12x12 scrapbook paper.
Using a size 8 tag as a template it was traced around 4 times onto the paper lined up together to create a concertina fold.
I then placed a template from the A5 Insert Template set on the bottom and traced around.
So once cut out and folded it created the pockets for the tag inserts as shown.

I then traced around a size 6 Grey Board tag onto white cardstock x4 and cut out. These were then decorated with collage elements and papers. The edges inked and string added to finish.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Stay Safe
Fiona.

June Colour Theme Tag

Hi there!
The colour theme for June are these gorgeous colours:
I collected together some materials in these colours and grabbed one of the large size 9 tags. I started off with a base coat of Whisper chalk paint with a little bit of the honey colour brushed through it. Then I stippled, mono-printed and stencilled with the darker colours to make my background. I used some of the Tando mini stencils for this.

I was starting to get some Mediterranean vibes so I thought one of France’s lizard stamps from Creepers and Crawlers would work well here. I stamped him with Versamark and sprinkled a few different sand coloured embossing powders over before heat setting. Then I cut a piece of the ‘wire’ extra thins and coated it in a verdigris powder (Wow Sea Of Tranquility by Seth Apter) so that it looked like a bit of old wire fencing.
Here’s my finished tag.

Thanks for stopping by!

June Colour Theme Twinchie

This is the colour theme for June:

I've made another Twinchie:

I've used the semi circle from the Industrial Pack

I painted the base and then the semi circle with acrylic paints. I've used the Dots Stencil onto the base and a text stamp.

I've given everything some doodles and then finished off with a stamped bird and a quote.
