 Happy Sunday everyone. I am stopping by to bring you a little quick and easy project using my favourite 3d House style 1.

These 3d houses are great little projects to complete and can be decorated in all manner of ways and are perfect to give as a handmade gift.

I started by assembling and gluing together the house pieces and then gave it a coat of DecoArt chalky finish in Carbon all over. Once dry I gave it a coat of DecoArt Ultra Matte varnish to seal and protect.

Next I cut a panel from white 300gsm cardstock to fit the front of the house leaving a small border.

I then glued a piece of Tim holtz collage tissue ( you could also use rice paper) to one side of the panel and dried with a heat tool.

I then spritzed the cardstock panel with water and embossed with a Tim Holtz 3d Brick embossing folder through the big shot. The panel was then glued to the house front.

Next I took a piece of the Tando Moroccan grid , applied versamark ink and sprinkled with white embossing powder and heat set. I then fussy cut a Butterfly ( you know I love Butterflies right) from my stash and inked the edges with black Archival Ink.

The Moroccan grid was then glued to the house offset to the left and the Butterfly then glued into place at a jaunty angle.

To finish the word Papillon was created using a Dynamo and mounted onto a piece of white cardstock and trimmed to create a border. This was then attached to the house as shown.

A quick and easy monochrome project with splash of colour using minimal supplies.

Morning All Fiona here today with a little project for this Months Colour theme.

Lovely soft shades on this one.

Iv'e used a Tando Size 9 tag as my substrate base. To this I added stenciling with DecoArt Modelling Paste and colour with Distress spray stains and Gesso. A Stamped and embossed flower onto vellum and of course my favourite Tando Layered Butterfly. A piece of Morrocan Grid and some natural sisal coloured with the Distress Ink sprays to tie it all in together.

Morning All Fiona here with a project for this weeks theme on the blog 'SPRING'

I have decorated a little Tando A6 Binder in a spring theme and of course

I just had to add a Butterfly.

First up the binder was given a coat Of DecoArt Chalky Finish in Carbon on both the inside and out.

I then applied two coats of DecoArt Ultra Matte Varnish to seal the binder.

A distress Ink sprayed background  was created with some stamping and heat embossing to create a panel for the binder.

More heat embossing on the Tando Moroccan Grid. Also the flowers and the butterfly were heat embossed on Duralar Film for a Dreamy effect.

 An antique mirror effect was applied to a tando acrylic circle and circle frames cut from Tando Grey Board using a circle die were added. 

Finally a Tim Holtz chipboard quote added to finish.

I am embracing the bright colours and loving it.

Anything Goes week - Moroccan Sunshine

Morning everyone,

It's Anything goes week at Tando Creative, and my make for you today is one of the Giant Media Boards, which I squealed when I saw, as they are just a fab size for creating on, and something different.

The Media board was painted with a coat of lace chalk paint first.  Then I added a wash of Yellow Iron Oxide, followed by filling in the whiter spaces where the paint drained from, with a pale blue chalk paint wash.

The background was stamped with a texture stamp,  I used Archival Coffee Grounds ink for this.

I had a sheet of the lovely Moroccan style lattice, and thought this was perfect to add.  I painted it in the pale blue chalk, and then added 'rust' with quinacridone gold and Raw Umber, to look like an aged window grill.  To enhance the colour I used Andy Skinner's new Embossing Powder, Funky Cold Patina in small area's.

I stamped the beautiful Sun stamp from Stamperia twice, and cut out just the face to layer up.  I coloured this with my Prismacolour pencils, I felt like a change!  This was glued and then pinflair added to 3d the face.

The sentiment is a Mitform Casting, and I thought Journey was appropriate on my sunshine travel theme.

I punched holes at the top of the media board with a Cropodile, edged the whole board in Versafine Majestic Blue, and added wire and beads to finish.

Hope you like it, it seems fitting as we are going to get rather warm weather next week apparently!

Faux Fabric - Brenda

It's faux fabric week and I struggled to think what I could do when I remembered I had a faux linen texture paint effect in my little technique book. Out it came and eh voila a new binder was created with the linen effect on both the outside and inside covers. 

Once it was finished like this it is much easier to see close up and difficult to photo.

I wanted to keep this rather shabby looking so I used both Titanium White and Titan Buff Premium Acrylics with Traditions Glazing Medium. I mixed Titan Buff first 50/50 with the glazing medium and painted sections vertically then took a dry brush and gently pulled the bristles in the same direction wiping the paint off on the kitchen roll between each swipe. I dried it and them mixed the Titanium White in with what was left over, added a bit more glazing medium and repeated the process only this time painting in the horizontal direction

It wasn't easy to capture the effect on camera being a dull day, but here is stage 1 ........

.... and then stage 2.

I think my practice piece gives you a better idea of what the effect looks like.

Next I glued on some magnets for keeping the binder flap closed and added some texture with these Tando stencils and DecoArt White Modeling Paste.

When it was dry I spritzed on some water, dipped a small paint brush in cobalt teal hue and dabbled it around spritzing a bit more and dried it. Then I mixed some raw umber with water in a mini mister and sprayed some of that over and dried it.

I gathered some embellishments and painted the chipboards white and then adhered them to the covers adding all the embellishments .......

...... before having some fun with gesso and mixing my own paint sprays in cerulean blue, prussian blue hue and titanium white media acrylics. I finished off with white and burnt umber splatters and some remnant rubs.

Bumblebees and Butterflies

Colour theme week- Canvas layout by Monika

Hi :)

It's Colour Theme week, so I thought I will make a canvas layout using Tando elements and stencils.

These are the colours we had to use:

 

I've started my work with applying Decoart modeling paste through stencils randomly on medium size canvas board. 

Using Decoart heavy gel medium I've added greyboard pieces- , an old brush, greayboard words, small pearls and other decorative elements. After making sure the whole composition is dry I've covered it with white gesso.

 Next step was to add some colours. I have used media sprays, acrilic paint washes and alcohol inks, playing and mixing them all.

Christmas door hanger: Anything goes week with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends!

Welcome to my Anything goes weekly project here on Tando  blog.

I made the fancy, shabby style Christmas door hanger.

   

This Tando door hanger was covered with DecoArt Media line paints and mediums over the texture paste
 masked snowflakes images (mostly seen on the handle on the top).
Large grid chipboard piece was painted with gesso and some crackle paste and added as the middle layer .
Then the embellishment cluster was made from cardstock, flowers, clay frame and metal trinket.

Hellooooo!  Today I have a 3D project using Kate Crane's Ministry of Mixology (April2017) dividers and a host of other Tando bit and pieces.  When I was doing Kate's class in April I could see straight away that they could be shelves so I have made a little cupboard!
